An introduction to the study of the properties, effects, and therapeutic value of drugs. For each major drug group, the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and adverse drug reactions will be outlined based upon a group prototype. The objective of the course is to give students the ability to place major drugs into correct therapeutic categories with an understanding of their mechanisms of action, indications, and side effects. This course does not count toward a chemistry major or minor.
