Human life involves encounters with trauma that can have profound physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual effects on individuals and communities. This course explores poetic, prophetic, and narrative encounters with trauma in the Old Testament. It uses trauma-informed research in interpreting biblical texts, considering contemporary parallels, and reflecting on identity, healing, resilience, reconciliation, and hope. PEAK required.
