The Offutt School of Business Difference

As an economics major, you’ll learn to pay attention to world events and their likely impact on everyday choices and decisions. There’s plenty of hands-on learning as well. Each summer, students can participate in an undergraduate research program in experimental economics.

You’ll study how global markets function, how financial institutions work and adapt based on a variety of impacts, and the principles of cost of living. Plus, you’ll learn business basics, like accounting and finance, to help solidify your educational foundation.

Past economics graduates have become financial or credit analysts, personal financial advisors, economic consultants for a variety of business sizes (including Fortune 500 companies), economic policy advisors, Federal Reserve Banks governors, lobbyists and even held positions at the United Nations. 

Plus, many economics principles apply across business – opening doors into the accounting and finance world, among others.
