Dr. Gwen Wagstrom Halaas was named dean of the Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions in 2022.
Built on the college's strong history of educating sought-after health practitioners and administrators, the Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions offers a trail-blazing approach that equips students with the expertise they need to become impactful health professionals.
The school’s undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, and graduate programs prepare students for a diverse range of health-related career paths – from leadership to direct client or patient care. Courses are designed to emphasize collaborative ways of learning that directly mirror the team-based approaches used in most health professions organizations today. Faculty are well-connected to regional employers, providing access to stellar internship and practicum experiences.

My favorite aspect of this course was the hands-on experience in the lab part of the class. The laboratory component was completely different from any other lab I have taken. We had the chance to put into practice exercise tests, techniques, and protocols currently used by exercise science professionals in the field.
