Major: Chemistry

What is your dream job after college and how do you want to make an impact?

I have recently been thinking of going into a postgraduate dentistry program after Concordia. I lacked access to oral health care while growing up and two of my family members have always struggled with their teeth. I really just want to help other families that face obstacles in obtaining healthcare. I am not sure of how I will do it yet, but it's the goal for now. I would really love to work at Mayo Clinic Dentistry or John Hopkins Dentistry and hopefully start my own dental practice in the future. Concordia has really just been helping me with the courses I need to get to my dream. The biology and chemistry classes I have been had are just amazing. Additionally, my professors have also been helping me with places I could go to shadow some dentists and I couldn't have been more blessed to have such people around me.

What year are you here at Concordia?

I am a sophomore and will be graduating in 2023.

What are you involved in on campus? What kind of work do you want to be known for?

I am a student ambassador and an international admission intern this year. It's been amazing to get to meet and know some of the domestic and international prospective students. I am also a teacher's assistant for general chemistry lab, group liaison for the International Student Organization, College Democrats state council representative for a club called Campus Democrats, and a leader in a Christian organization for international students called Bridges International.

What is your favorite Cobber tradition and why? What stories do you have to share about that tradition?

One of my favorite Cobber traditions would have to be the Cobber Corn Feed. I really enjoy meeting different families there as well as connecting with other Cobbers.

Tell us your favorite stop on tour and why it's your favorite. Why do you connect with the space?

My favorite stop on tour is the north side of campus by Prexy's Pond. I always get to talk about some of the activities that take place in the open lawn area there with my favorite one being the worship nights that we have for a club that I'm a part of on campus called Remedy. Faith is a really big part of my life and I love that Concordia gives me the space to worship with others and talk about my faith as well.

Words of wisdom for prospective students?

Set a foundation that will help drive you toward your goals. Try to be organized and purposeful in your reason and stay connected to your friends, family, and faith.

Why did you choose Concordia? Was there a defining moment in your college search process?

I chose Concordia because of the scholarship package I received, the science faculty that has been working with me and pushing me to what I want to achieve, and the small Cobber community that makes me feel like I'm part of a big family.

What does it mean to be a Cobber in one word?
