What is your dream job after college and how do you want to make an impact?
After college, my dream job is to work as a physical therapist. I want to have a positive influence in the lives of others who are going through a recovery period. Ideally, I would like to work with athletes and help them recover after an injury and become stronger than they were previously. I know because of the education that I am getting at Concordia, this will be a reality for me. Because of the classes that I am taking and the connections that are so easily made, I am confident about the path that I am on to achieving my goals thanks to Concordia.
What year are you here at Concordia?
I am a sophomore here at Concordia. I am expected to graduate in May 2023.
What are you involved in on campus? What kind of work do you want to be known for?
On campus, I am involved in Exercise Science Club, French club, track and field, and Orientation. I want to be remembered as someone who was always willing to help others in any way possible. I also want to be known as someone who was passionate about their work and someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the world.
What is your favorite Cobber tradition and why? What stories do you have to share about that tradition?
My favorite Cobber tradition would have to be the beanie toss that happens at the end of Orientation Week. I love the beanie toss because it symbolizes the start of your journey at Concordia and is the beginning of a story that lasts four years. My beanie toss was really special because it was a moment where everything became real to me. I remember thinking, "Wow, I'm here. I'm actually about to do this."
Tell us your favorite stop on tour and why it's your favorite. Why do you connect with the space?
My favorite stop on tour would probably have to be Olson Forum. I connect with Olson Forum the most because it is where I have really good memories of track meets and practices with some of my best friends. I also connect with Olson Forum because of the Human Performance Lab I use to get hands-on experience in exercise science classes.
Words of wisdom for prospective students?
My words of wisdom for prospective students would be to do as much research into potential schools as possible. When you start researching, you will find an in-depth response to what student life is really like, the resources available to you, and how you fit into the school best.
Why did you choose Concordia? Was there a defining moment in your college search process?
I chose Concordia because I knew that this community would give me everything that I need to be successful, including academics and relationships that I would form. I remember the exact moment when I knew Concordia was right for me. I was sitting in on a class at Concordia, nearing the end of my visit day. I had liked everything I had seen so far, but then I realized I didn't want the day to be over. When I realized that I had already grown so fond of Concordia as a senior in high school, I knew that this was the place where I was meant to be for the next four years.
