What is your dream job after college and how do you want to make an impact?
After graduation, I hope to become a registered nurse. Although I am not sure what specific branch of nursing I’m interested in, I trust that Concordia will provide me with opportunities to find my calling.
What year are you here at Concordia?
I’m a second-year student, graduating in 2024.
What are you involved in on campus? What kind of work do you want to be known for?
I am heavily involved in Cru, a Christian ministry on campus, as both a member and leader. Also, I am a member of the Student Nurses Association and Concordia Outdoor Recreation Club. I would like to be known as an individual who builds a benevolent and engaging community on campus, and participation in these clubs facilitates my ability to do just that.
What is your favorite Cobber tradition and why? What stories do you have to share about that tradition?
My favorite Cobber tradition is the beanie toss. Not only is the tradition unique to Concordia, but it also instills the idea that we are navigating through the college experience together from the get-go. First years participate in this with their entire class and, in that sense, I think it forms a common bond between us from the very beginning.
Tell us your favorite stop on tour and why it's your favorite. Why do you connect with the space?
My favorite stop has to be the Integrated Science Center. For one, most of my classes are here. But, more importantly, I’ve connected with students in my classes, as well as participated in many campus activities such as movie nights in this building. I have many fond memories associated with ISC.
Words of wisdom for prospective students?
College has the potential to broaden your horizons more than any other period of your life has thus far. With that in mind, I advise students to go “all in.” Try new things, take classes that genuinely interest you, go out of your way to meet new people, and get involved.
Why did you choose Concordia? Was there a defining moment in your college search process?
I chose Concordia because the students and faculty made a foreign place feel like home. Starting college is inherently stressful, so connecting with a warm and engaging campus gave me a sense of comfort, as well as assured me that I would find success once I enrolled here.
