Darin J. Ulness holds the Dr. Nere Sundet Endowed Chair of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry. Professor Ulness graduated from Moorhead High School in 1989, earned a BA in chemistry and mathematics at Concordia College in 1993, and received his Ph.D. in Chemistry at Cornell University in 1996. He is a recipient of an NSF CAREER award and the Henry Dreyfuss Teacher/Scholar award. He has authored more than 50 scientific papers in the areas of noisy light spectroscopy, ultrafast spectroscopy, fractional/conformable derivatives, and lacunary functions.
