125 Years Strong

Concordia celebrated its 125-year history on Oct. 31, 2016.

The anniversary celebration began with chapel and President Emeritus Paul Dovre and President William Craft naming the strong giants in our history who have built the college into what it is today.

The chapel event flowed into a reception that included a book signing by Professor Emeritus Carroll Engelhardt for his book “Concordia Fair Doth Stand: The College Begins Its Second Century, 1991-2016.” Engelhardt also wrote the history of the first 100 years of the college in the book “On Firm Foundation Grounded: The First Century of Concordia College, 1891-1991.”

The students rounded out the afternoon with celebratory cupcakes marking the college’s birthday. There will be other events throughout the year to commemorate the 125th anniversary.
