2016 Christmas Concert Broadcast

The 2017 Christmas Concerts were recently enjoyed by thousands of people in the Fargo-Moorhead and Minneapolis-St. Paul areas. Those unable to enjoy a live performance can tune into a broadcast of last year’s concert from their own homes. The concert was videotaped by Twin Cities Public Television during the performances at Concordia in 2016. The performance of “Gather Us In” was broadcast regionally and in the Twin Cities in 2016 but is now available on public broadcast stations throughout the U.S.

Times and dates of the broadcasts can be found at ConcordiaCollege.edu/christmasbroadcast. Each year, a 30-minute radio broadcast is also made available to radio stations across the country. Those stations that have downloaded the program for broadcast are also included on the broadcast page.

More than 400 student musicians in four choirs and a full orchestra performed in front of a panoramic mural in this hour-long program, conducted by artistic director Dr. René Clausen. The themes of worship service in song explore the virtues of community, tolerance, compassion, and unity, all made possible by the incarnation of Jesus, the true Child of Peace.

“In a world with deep divisions, our wish is that you may, through the singing and playing of the students in the Concordia choirs and orchestra, experience a healing, wholeness, and fullness of heart,” Clausen said of the “Gather Us In” performance.
