2016 Peace Scholars Named

Katie Black ’17, Bismarck, N.D., and Andie Palagi ’17, Butte, Mont., have been named Concordia’s 2016 Peace Scholars.

The Peace Scholars program is designed to deepen students' understanding of the central issues and theories regarding conflict, war, and peace. It is sponsored by Concordia, Augsburg, Augustana (S.D.), Luther, Pacific Lutheran and St. Olaf.

A cohort of two students from each college will study for seven weeks this summer in Norway at the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue in Lillehammer and at the University of Oslo International Summer School. The scholars will be blogging regularly throughout their time in Norway.

Black and Palagi will be introduced at the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Forum June 6-8 held on the campuses of Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota West Bank.
