Board Reappoints President Craft to Second Term

The Concordia College Board of Regents has reappointed Dr. William J. Craft to a second six-year term as president of Concordia College.

The vote was by unanimous ballot during the board’s winter meeting held on campus. Craft’s reappointment follows an initial term highlighted by the opening of the Offutt School of Business with a dedication celebration headlined by Bill Gates, and the development and implementation of the strategic plan Whole Self, Whole Life, Whole World addressing the heart of a Concordia education. During Craft’s presidency, Concordia has received $93.6 million in total gifts and pledges to the college, and the endowment has grown to approximately $111 million.

The Honorable Chief Judge John R. Tunheim, chair of the Board of Regents, strongly supports the reappointment of President Craft. "Concordia College is extremely fortunate to have an outstanding leader like Dr. Craft as its president. He has guided Concordia with wisdom, skill, and foresight, and we look forward to his strong leadership in the years to come,” Tunheim says.

Upon his reappointment, Craft said, "I am honored by this appointment and the chance to serve Concordia College, whose faith and learning mission and whose community I so much love. The world needs the gift of our graduates, nurtured in free inquiry, prepared for professional achievement, and devoted to their neighbor’s good. Together we will sustain, renew, and champion the value of a Concordia education."

President Craft is currently serving in the fifth year of an initial six-year term as president of Concordia College. He will begin his second term as president on July 1, 2017.
