Dickey Presents 'Trombone Troubadour' Recital

Dr. Nat Dickey is kicking off the new year with a solo trombone recital in Fergus Falls, Minn.

Dickey, associate professor of low brass at Concordia College and principal trombonist of the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony, will be accompanied by Andrew Steinberg. The program, titled “The Trombone Troubadour,” has the sounds of the familiar as well as new pieces for solo trombone and for trombone with piano.

“I am excited about the chance to share original music for trombone with audiences,” Dickey said. “The music is very expressive in a personal way and showcases the beautiful voice of the trombone.”

Dickey received the 2016 McKnight Fellowship by the Lake Region Arts Council. He and Steinberg performed the same program in Detroit Lakes in November as part of the chamber music series.

The performance in Fergus Falls is part of the OnStage concert series at the Center for the Arts. It will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7.
