Best Ice Cream Shops in Fargo-Moorhead
Everybody knows that cold treats are a staple of summer, but not everyone knows where they can get the “best of the best.” That’s probably because recently at least three new ice cream shops have been introduced to the area. Here is a list of some of the new and old “best of the best” ice cream shops in Fargo-Moorhead.
Silver Lining Creamery
Best Quality
123 Broadway N., Fargo
As soon as you walk into Silver Lining Creamery, you can already tell you’ll be served the freshest, boldest and most unique flavors of ice cream. The owner makes the product in-store and in small batches right before your eyes (aka behind a glass wall). So whether you like your ice cream as a shake or float, in a cup or cone, or even in a cute mason jar as a sundae, rest assured quality is in there.
Scoop N Dough Candy Co.
Best Hotspot
206 Roberts Alley N., Fargo
Scoop N Dough Candy Co. opened in Roberts Alley of downtown Fargo this May. If the grand opening was any indication, the sweet shop should have no problem attracting customers and scooping up satisfaction. It offers ice cream, edible cookie dough and everything in between: popcorn, candy bars, lollipops, coffees and sodas.
Tea & Crepe
Most Options
72 Broadway N., Fargo
There’s more to it than just the name. Aside from the obvious, Tea & Crepe on Broadway also offers yogurt, smoothies and, more notably, Thai ice cream rolls. Although this seems to be the only place where you can get this kind of ice cream in the area, there are countless combinations of flavors and toppings to choose from that will keep you rolling in for more.
Kroll's Diner
Best Atmosphere
1033 45th St. S., Fargo
The tagline “Sit Down and Eat!” says it all. From the red booths to the black-and-white checkered floors, Kroll’s Diner offers a unique, 1950’s-themed experience for people of all ages. Kroll’s is home to the Shakey Monday deal (BOGO shakes) with a separate menu dedicated solely to listing flavors that customers can mix and match.
Dairy Queen
Best Overall
24 8th St. S., Moorhead
The DQ on Eighth Street provides the best overall experience. Not only does it take very few steps to get there, but very few bills are required to pay for it as well. Because they offer deals on already decent prices, it’s perfect for students. Even better? Despite being one of the oldest original stores (the Dilly Bar is said to have been invented here!) and only a seasonal walk-up, this Dairy Queen offers both unique and handmade items exclusive to this location.
