The 870-seat Art Deco styled Fargo Theatre provides a brilliant backdrop for filmmakers' work to be shown, anchoring the Fargo Film Festival events. On average, 200 films are submitted to the festival each year, from across the U.S. and 15 countries. Films are juried in categories including Animation, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short, Experimental, Narrative Feature, Narrative Short, and Student.

In addition to film showings, the festival offers opportunities to speak with filmmakers in Q&A sessions and panel events.

Dr. Greg Carlson, director of film studies and media activities at Concordia, has been an integral part of the Fargo Film Festival since it got its start in 2001. Hear what the festival means to him and his teaching at Concordia:
