Events to Explore

Bridge Bash

Held the first month back to school, this annual event welcomes new college students to town as well as returning students. Hosted by the Moorhead Business Association, Bridge Bash features games, a live band, food trucks, and vendors. Canoe and kayaks are also available for use.

Canoe Parade

Starting at Viking Ship Park next to the Hjemkomst Heritage Interpretive Center, the Canoe Parade connects participants and spectators to the river that has shaped the Fargo-Moorhead area throughout its history. Participants decorate their canoes like floats and dress in wild costumes as they float on the Red River. The Canoe Parade is hosted by Folkways.

First Fridays at Theatre B

First Fridays at B is a platform to discuss important food topics in the F-M area. Held the first Friday of the month, community members gather at Theatre B in north Moorhead. This free event is co-hosted by Food of the North and Cass Clay Food Partners.

Frostival

With a #ColdIsCool theme, Frostival celebrates some of the best activities living in the F-M community can offer. Six weeks of events are held, ranging from a snow sculpture competition to a cardboard sled race.

Local Faves

Junkyard

Located along First Avenue North, Junkyard recently opened the doors to a 1,500-square-foot taproom expansion and ample outdoor seating is available to enjoy during the warmer months.

Rustica

The tavern side of Rustica serves 10-inch pizzas that are customizable and range from $10 to $14, with half-price appetizers and pizzas during happy hour.

Dairy Queen

Moorhead is home to the “rogue” Dairy Queen – where the Dilly Bar was invented and you can get toppings, flavors, and foods not found on any other DQ menu. The original Moorhead DQ is just a quick walk north down Eighth Street and is open March 1-Oct. 31.
