Any student who would like to be part of a choral ensemble this year is encouraged to audition in the fall. Sign up to be a part of the Concordia Christmas Concerts, shown in the video above. (Video recorded in 2021 when masking was required. Masking is not currently planned for the 2022 Christmas Concert.)
All students are welcome to audition for a choral ensemble regardless of previous singing experience. Auditions are brief (7 minutes) and easy to complete.
Auditions take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of Orientation Week.

These choirs are conducted by Dr. Kira Knutson. Students who are new to the choral program or who are not planning on auditioning for The Concordia Choir will be placed into one of these three high-level choirs. To audition, follow the instructions above. Kantorei meets 4-5 p.m. MWF, Cantabile meets 4:30-5:30 p.m. T/Th and 6-7 p.m. Wednesday; and Chapel Choir meets 5-6:15 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The Concordia Choir is conducted by Dr. Michael Culloton and any student who has completed one year in the choral program at Concordia is eligible to audition. Auditions for The Concordia Choir take place annually in April for the following year. Rehearsals are 4:30-6 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Auditions dates and times will be posted in the Hvidsten Hall of Music during move-in week. Please prepare either the excerpt posted with the signup sheet or 12-16 bars of a different jazz standard. In addition, auditions will consist of repeating a melody, sight-reading, and a simple range check. Please email Student Director Kathryn Gubrud (kgubrud@cord.edu) or Staff Advisor Wyatt Steinke (wsteinke@cord.edu) for more information.
