Dr. David Creech

Associate Professor, Religion Religion, Social Activism

Dr. Creech spends most of his days thinking, writing, and teaching on early Christianities. Prior to earning his Ph.D. in theology from Loyola University Chicago, Dr. Creech earned a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. His first book explored the use of biblical creation stories in Gnostic myth-making. He recently edited the New Testament portion of The Path, a fantastic abridged Bible. He is currently working on a project exploring early Christian criminality.

In the classroom, students love his engaging style and his willingness to challenge the status quo. The dynamic interactions invite students to reflect not only on ideas but the real-world impacts of ideas.
